Since 1990…
In 1990, Agriturismo La Chiocciola was born, now transformed into La Locanda della Chiocciola, a charming small hotel surrounded by ancient villages and lush hills. This ancient 15th-century farmhouse overlooks the Tiber Valley. The Locanda’s strategic location, on the border between Lazio and Umbria, allows visitors to explore places of significant archaeological, natural, and historical interest.
From the Tuscia region with Viterbo, the Etruscan coast, Tarquinia, and Tuscania, to the lakes of Bolsena and Vico, and the grandeur of Rome. In Umbria, discover Orvieto, Todi, Perugia, Assisi, the ceramics of Deruta, and the majestic Marmore Falls. Less than an hour’s drive away, Rome is also easily accessible by train.
The pool, surrounded by meadows and olive trees, shaded by oaks and hazelnut trees, is a tranquil retreat reserved exclusively for guests. The recently opened wellness center is an intimate space with large windows overlooking the green valley and can be reserved for exclusive use by two people.
The owners, Roberto and Maria Cristina de Fonseca Pimentel, personally manage the Locanda, welcoming guests with warmth and hospitality.

The Restaurant
Between the indoor dining room, warmed by a 17th-century fireplace, and the terrace overlooking the valley, you’ll find an authentic cuisine rooted in rural tradition.
Chef Roberto, who is also the owner, crafts each dish using fresh, seasonal ingredients from the region: homemade pasta, meats, game, garden vegetables, and artisanal desserts, all paired with a curated selection of Italian wines, with special attention to local labels.
